LEGO's USS Enterprise boldly goes where no brick has gone before.

LEGO has just announced the Icons 10356 USS Enterprise, and at 3,600 pieces, it's shaping up to be one of the most ambitious Star Trek builds we've seen. Probably the worst kept secret of the year in Lego but a welcome one.

The set comes with nine minifigures representing the Next Generation crew, which is a nice touch.

At 3,600 pieces, this isn't going to be a quick weekend build, and you'll need some serious shelf space once it's done. The Enterprise isn't exactly known for being compact, after all. But that said being a massive Star Trek Fan it's without doubt a must get for me.

Many of the pieces in the set are printed, I remember seeing early shots of this set and at the time we thought the windows were all stickers but luckily they're not.

When it launches the set will also come with a rather nice Shuttlepod build a 261 piece Type-15 Shuttlepod (40768) If I'm betting this one will be around £60 on eBay if you want to get it that way instead.
