LEGO's Darksaber Gift With Purchase Returns to Lightsaber Builds
LEGO has confirmed The Darksaber (40917) as one of this year's May the 4th gift with purchase sets. The 278-piece build recreates the distinctive black-bladed weapon from The Mandalorian and other Star Wars stories.

This marks a return to the lightsaber hilt builds that LEGO has done sporadically over the years. The Darksaber's angular design and unique history make it a more interesting choice than another standard lightsaber. It's appeared across multiple shows and changed hands between Pre Vizsla, Darth Maul, Sabine Wren, Bo-Katan Kryze, Moff Gideon, and Din Djarin.

The piece count puts it in line with previous lightsaber builds, which typically range from 200 to 300 pieces. These display pieces work well on shelves and give you something substantial to build without taking up enormous space. The Darksaber's distinctive flat blade should translate well to LEGO's brick-built approach.
LEGO hasn't announced the spending threshold yet, but expect it to be around £145/$160 based on the dollar version of May the 4th promotions. The set should be available from early May when the Star Wars Day celebrations kick off on the LEGO Shop.
