Maersk Returns to LEGO After 12 Years with New Container Ship Set

LEGO has just announced the Maersk Dual-Fuel Container Vessel (40955), marking the first time we've seen the famous shipping company back in brick form since 2014. The new set launches in March with 1,516 pieces for £149.99 - that works out to roughly 10p per piece, which is decent value for a licenced set these days.

This new vessel is described as a "smaller version" but focuses on dual-fuel technology, reflecting Maersk's real-world push towards more sustainable shipping. It's quite clever how LEGO continues to mirror actual industry developments in their sets.

It's good to see LEGO maintaining these corporate partnerships - they often result in sets that feel a bit different from the usual themes, and there's something quite satisfying about building something that exists in the real world. Whether this signals more maritime sets to come remains to be seen, but it's certainly a welcome addition to the Creator lineup.
