LEGO Completes Chinese Zodiac Collection with Year of the Horse (40779)

After more than a decade of waiting, LEGO has finally revealed the last piece of the puzzle - the Year of the Horse (40779) gift with purchase set that completes their Chinese Zodiac collection. If you've been collecting these charming little builds since the Sheep kicked things off back in 2015, this 132-piece set will be the cherry on top of what's become quite a lovely display series.

The horse itself follows the same cartoony style we've come to expect from this range, with a white and brown mane and one hoof raised in a dynamic pose. It sits on a decorative base adorned with flowers and gold-coloured leaf elements, which should make it a proper little centrepiece for Chinese New Year celebrations or year-round display.

What's particularly nice about this being a gift with purchase is that you're essentially getting it free with qualifying orders from December 23rd onwards. At 132 pieces, it's a decent-sized build that should provide a satisfying hour or so of construction for anyone aged 8 and up. The timing couldn't be better either, arriving just before the actual Year of the Horse begins in early 2026.

Personally, I quite like how LEGO has stuck with the consistent design language throughout this series. The cartoony approach works well for both kids and adult collectors, and these sets have that special quality of being culturally significant whilst remaining accessible to builders of all backgrounds. If you've been collecting the zodiac animals, this final addition should round out your display nicely. And if you're new to the series, well, at least you won't have to wait another 12 years for the cycle to complete again!
