Win a Trip to Hobbiton and Every LEGO Lord of the Rings Set

What You Win

The grand prize covers flights and six nights' accommodation for you and a guest, along with a guided tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set in Matamata. This is the original Shire location that Peter Jackson built for the films and left standing - 44 hobbit holes set into rolling green hillside, complete with gardens, fences, and washing lines. The site also includes the Green Dragon Inn, where guided tours finish with a drink in a fully working pub built to look like it belongs in Middle-earth.

On top of the trip, the winner gets all six current LEGO Lord of the Rings sets:

  • 11377 Minas Tirith - 8,278 pieces, £579.99
  • 10316 Rivendell - 6,167 pieces, £429.99
  • 10333 Barad-dûr - 5,471 pieces, £399.99
  • 10354 The Shire - 2,017 pieces, £229.99
  • 10367 Balrog Book Nook - 1,201 pieces, £109.99
  • 11373 Sauron's Helmet - 538 pieces, £64.99

That's over 23,600 pieces and roughly £1,800 worth of LEGO before you even count the trip. The full LOTR line in one go.

The Hobbiton Experience

If you haven't looked into Hobbiton before, it's worth knowing what the trip involves. The movie set sits on a working sheep farm about two hours south of Auckland. Guided tours run daily and take you through the full Shire village - Bag End at the top of the hill, Bagshot Row, the Party Tree, and all the smaller hobbit holes with their round doors painted in different colours. Everything is maintained to film standard, so the gardens are planted and the props stay in place year-round.

The tour wraps up at the Green Dragon Inn, where they brew their own ginger beer and serve a couple of ales made specifically for the site. It's one of the most visited tourist attractions in New Zealand and regularly books out during peak season, so having it as part of an organised prize trip takes the hassle out of planning.

How to Enter

Head to LEGO.com/insiders/rewards, log in (or sign up - it's free), find the Hobbiton promotion, and hit "Redeem Reward." No purchase necessary. The competition runs until 23:59 BST on June 30, 2026, and the winner gets 10 days to respond and claim.

One catch: it's not open everywhere. Eligible countries include the UK, Ireland, US, Canada, Germany, France, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Luxembourg, Estonia, Lithuania, and Slovakia. You need to be 18 or older to enter.

A week in New Zealand walking through the actual Shire, then coming home to build it all in LEGO. Hard to think of a better prize for a Tolkien fan.
