Two LEGO Wednesday sets arrive 1 October — including the theme's first proper minifigure

Two new LEGO Wednesday sets have been confirmed for 1 October 2026: 76788 Nevermore Academy and 76787 Wednesday Backpack. They are the first Wednesday additions of 2026, timed squarely for Halloween.

76788 Nevermore Academy (890 pieces, ages 10+, £59.99 / $69.99 / €69.99 / AU$119.99 / CAD$99.99) is the headline set. It builds the gothic boarding school in microscale, with an open back that reveals a dorm room, a principal's office, and a music room. At roughly 6.7p per piece, the price-per-part is genuinely solid for a display piece of this size.

The detail that will matter most to collectors: Nevermore Academy includes a proper Wednesday Addams minifigure - the first in the entire theme, which until now has been built exclusively around minidolls. There are also printed statue figures of Wednesday and Enid Sinclair used within the building itself. One structural note worth knowing: the crate-stack tower that looks precarious on first glance is secured by a Technic axle running through the stacked crates, the same method used on 43232 Peter Pan's Flight.

76787 Wednesday Backpack (401 pieces, ages 9+, £34.99 / $44.99 / €39.99 / AU$64.99 / CAD$62.99) takes a different approach. The backpack opens at the top to reveal a miniature dorm room inside, with a Wednesday minidoll and Thing included. The hidden-interior concept suits the Gothic aesthetic well, and at around 8.7p per piece it sits firmly in gifting territory - a solid Halloween present that does not demand shelf space.

Season 3 of the Netflix series, starring Jenna Ortega, is currently in production. These two sets give fans something concrete to hold onto in the meantime. The arrival of a proper minifigure should also bring in collectors who skipped the theme precisely because minidolls were not for them. That said, a full Addams family house with a complete cast remains what fans want most - this is a start, not the finish line.
