The Golden Ticket's Here: LEGO Ideas Willy Wonka Set (21360) Finally Arrives
LEGO Ideas Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (21360) has landed on shop shelves. At £199.99 for 2,025 pieces, it's not exactly pocket money, but for a set based on the beloved 1971 Gene Wilder classic, there's quite a lot to unwrap.
Minifigures wise: Willy Wonka himself, a pair of Oompa Loompas, Charlie and Grandpa Joe, plus all four of the rather unfortunate visiting children - Augustus, Violet, Veruca, and Mike. That's eight figures in total, which helps justify the price point somewhat.
At roughly 10p per piece, it sits in typical Ideas territory - not cheap, but reasonable for what you're getting. The set clearly targets adults who remember sneaking sweets during the film, though kids familiar with the story will love the interactive elements and storytelling possibilities.
If you're planning to grab one, there's currently a free SEGA Genesis Controller (40769) thrown in until 17th September, which adds a nice bit of retro gaming nostalgia to your chocolate factory adventure. Just mind you don't end up like Augustus Gloop when eyeing up that waterfall mechanism.
