LEGO's Northern Lights Diorama (40785) Brings the Aurora Borealis to Your Shelf

LEGO has just revealed the fourth entry in their Wonders of the Natural World series, and this one's rather nice. The Northern Lights Diorama (40785) captures one of nature's most spectacular light shows in brick form, featuring a snowy landscape beneath the shimmering aurora borealis.

At 332 pieces, this gift-with-purchase set continues the thoughtful approach we've seen with previous entries in this collection. The images show a lovely winter scene with what appears to be some clever techniques for representing those dancing green lights across the sky. There's something quite magical about how LEGO has tackled this - it's not an easy natural phenomenon to capture in bricks, but they seem to have found an elegant solution.

I'm curious to see the building techniques they've used for the aurora effect. From the photos, it looks like they might be using some interesting colour transitions and possibly transparent elements. It's these kinds of creative solutions that make LEGO's approach to natural phenomena so engaging.

Keep an eye out for the official announcement of when this becomes available - these nature dioramas tend to be quite popular once word gets out.
