LEGO's New Tropical Aquarium Set Brings Underwater Bliss to Your Shelf
LEGO has just surprised us all with the Icons Tropical Aquarium (10366), and I have to say, it's not what I was expecting from the Icons line this year. This underwater wonderland packs 4,154 pieces into what looks like a huge centrepiece for any LEGO display.
The set's launching on November 13th as part of the early Black Friday wave, with a price tag of £399.99.
The timing's interesting - releasing alongside Black Friday deals suggests LEGO knows this is going to be a popular gift choice. I can see the appeal for adults who've always fancied an aquarium but don't fancy the maintenance that comes with real fish.
Of course, at £400 but for a penny, this isn't exactly an impulse purchase. You'll also need a fair bit of display space - this looks like it'll dominate whatever shelf you put it on. But if you're after something genuinely unique that'll spark conversations, this could be just the ticket.
The question is whether it'll have enough building interest to justify that price point, or if it's more about the final display. Either way, it's refreshing to see LEGO trying something completely different with the Icons range.
