LEGO's New Football Set Opens Up Like a Surprise Egg - With a Stadium Inside
LEGO's latest Editions Football (43019). What looks like a straightforward football opens up to reveal a miniature stadium scene tucked away inside.

The set launches on 1st March for £129.99 with 1,498 pieces, which works out to roughly 9p per piece. The football itself is described as "almost 1:1 scale," so you're looking at something roughly the size of an actual football taking up space on your shelf ;).

The LEGO Editions line has been doing interesting things with unexpected subjects - remember the Typewriter (21327) that actually worked? This football continues that tradition of taking everyday objects and giving them a LEGO twist that's both nostalgic and genuinely engaging. You'll have loads of fun kicking it across the room, wait no.. don't do that.

My only concern is whether the opening mechanism will hold up to repeated use, especially if you've got young football fans who'll want to show it off to their mates. Still, for families where football's a big deal or adult builders looking for something a bit different from the usual Star Wars and Architecture sets, this could be a proper winner.
