LEGO's New Family Christmas Tree Opens Up to Reveal Hidden Surprises
LEGO's going all-out for Christmas this year with the **Family Christmas Tree (41843). 3,171 pieces for what looks like a seriously impressive centrepiece.
The tree opens up like a giant advent calendar to reveal scenes inside. There's a rotating train set built into the base. It reminds me of those Victorian Christmas displays you'd see in department store windows, but in LEGO form.
Retailing at £269.99, you're looking at roughly 8.5p per piece, which is decent for a seasonal set with this much detail. The size looks substantial enough to be a proper display piece rather than something that'll get lost on the mantelpiece.
The set launches on October 1st, giving you plenty of time to build before the festive season kicks in properly. From the images, the level of detail inside looks impressive, with what appears to be multiple scenes and plenty of seasonal touches.
It's definitely aimed at the premium end of LEGO's Christmas range, but if you're after something that'll become part of your annual Christmas tradition rather than a quick seasonal purchase, this could be worth considering. Just make sure you've got the shelf space sorted first.
