LEGO Technic 42240 Aston Martin Aramco AMR25 F1 Car Launches July 1st
LEGO has announced the 42240 Aston Martin Aramco AMR25 F1 Car, a 1,547-piece Technic recreation of Aston Martin's 2025 Formula 1 racer. Priced at £199.99, the 1:8 scale model launches on July 1st and targets builders aged 18+. Capturing the distinctive green livery and aerodynamic profile of the AMR25, this is the second 1:8 scale F1 car released in 2026.

Engineers have packed authentic F1 technology into the build. A 2-speed gearbox connects to a functioning differential, while working steering and front and rear suspension systems mirror real racing dynamics. V6 engine simulation runs alongside an electric motor system that powers the model's most impressive feature.

Working DRS (Drag Reduction System) technology automatically raises the rear spoiler when high gear is selected. Replicating F1's overtaking aid, the mechanism responds to the gearbox position and mimics how real cars deploy DRS on designated track sections. Aerodynamic detail extends throughout the 61 cm long, 26 cm wide, and 13 cm high model.

Building complexity matches the sophisticated engineering within. Advanced Technic builders will appreciate the intricate gear trains and linkages required to achieve the working systems. At nearly 1,550 pieces, the model offers substantial building time while maintaining structural integrity for display and hands-on demonstration.

LEGO continues expanding its Formula 1 portfolio after releasing the McLaren MCL39 F1 Car earlier in 2026. Both sets share the 1:8 scale format, allowing collectors to build competing teams from recent seasons. Full details and pricing for the Aston Martin Aramco AMR25 are available on BrickSleuth.
