LEGO Takes on Monet with New Art Set - Bridge over Water Lilies Coming March

LEGO's Art series continues to impress with their latest announcement - Claude Monet – Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies (31220), landing on shelves March 1st for £199.99. At 3,179 pieces, that works out to roughly 6p per piece, which is decent value for an Art set.

This one recreates Monet's famous Water Lilies painting that hangs in The Met in New York. LEGO have managed to translate impressionist brushstrokes into brick form - it's quite something to see how those soft, dreamy colours come together when you step back from the finished piece.

The build itself will likely follow the same format as other Art sets - lots of 1x1 plates in various shades of blue, green, and pink to capture that watery garden feel. It's very much an adult building experience rather than something for the kids, though older teenagers who enjoy more meditative builds might find it appealing.

At roughly 64x64 studs when complete, you'll need a decent chunk of wall space or a sizeable table to display this properly. The finished piece should look quite striking in the right setting, especially if you're into that whole gallery wall aesthetic.

For £199.99, it's competing with some serious LEGO sets in that price range. Whether it's worth it really depends on your interest in both LEGO and art. If you've enjoyed previous Art sets like the Hokusai or Van Gogh pieces, this one should tick the same boxes. The building process is relaxing, almost therapeutic, and you end up with something genuinely displayable rather than just another model gathering dust on a shelf.
