LEGO Ideas Floating Sea Otters (21366) - Adorable Marine Life Comes to Brick Form

LEGO Ideas has just revealed its latest set, and it's absolutely charming - the Floating Sea Otters (21366) is heading our way on 1st March for £119.99. With 1,234 pieces, that works out to roughly 10p per piece, which sits nicely in the typical Ideas range.

The brick-built mother otter can pose with her pup resting on her belly - just like the real thing when they float together to avoid drifting apart. There's also an alternative build where mum can hold a clam instead, giving you display options.

You can adjust the mother's head, mouth, flippers, and claws, which should make for some engaging building and plenty of photo opportunities once it's on the shelf. It's clearly aimed at adult builders rather than young children, fitting perfectly into that Ideas sweet spot of sophisticated builds that happen to feature adorable subjects.

Whilst £120 isn't pocket change, the piece count and unique subject matter make it feel reasonable for an Ideas set. It's certainly more appealing than some of the recent Ideas releases that felt a bit niche. Sometimes LEGO just gets the balance right between charming subject matter and solid building experience - this looks like one of those times.
