LEGO Finally Boldly Goes Where It Hasn't Gone Before - Star Trek is Coming

LEGO has officially teased its first Star Trek set, and it's got Captain Jean-Luc Picard front and centre. The teaser shows a lovely minifigure of Patrick Stewart's character materialising, complete with his iconic red command uniform from The Next Generation. There's even some real Klingon text at the end saying "TUGH Paw" - coming soon - which is a nice touch.

Rumours and even pictures have been floating around for a while now so it's hard to pretend we don't know what's coming but it's great to finally get a teaser! I'm really looking forward to it.

The big questions now are what ship we'll get (please let it be the Enterprise-D, ahem) and how much it'll cost. If they follow the Creator Expert route like they did with the NASA sets, we could be looking at something substantial for the display shelf.

Without officially knowing the specifics, it's hard to say much about value, but this teaser has certainly got my attention. After years of wishing LEGO would explore strange new worlds beyond that galaxy far, far away, it looks like they finally will. Let's hope it lives up to the anticipation when the full reveal comes.
