LEGO Announces Massive 8,278-Piece Minas Tirith Set
LEGO has announced Minas Tirith (11377), an 8,278-piece recreation of the White City from The Lord of the Rings. At £579.99, it launches on 1st June with early buyers getting a free Grond (40893) set during the first week.

This is LEGO's biggest Middle-earth set yet, dwarfing the previous Barad-dûr (10333) which had 5,471 pieces. The minifigure selection covers the coronation scene nicely - Aragorn as King Elessar, Arwen, Gandalf the White, Faramir, Pippin, and Denethor, plus four Gondorian soldiers and Shadowfax.

At 7.8p per piece, the pricing sits in line with other large LEGO sets. The challenge will be display space - this thing's going to be enormous. The modular design should help with transport and storage, though you'll need a decent-sized surface to show it properly.

This feels like LEGO capitalising on the success of Barad-dûr whilst the Lord of the Rings theme still has momentum. The timing makes sense with the upcoming Amazon series keeping Middle-earth in the spotlight.

For adult fans who've been waiting for the White City, this delivers the scale and detail you'd expect from a flagship LEGO set. Just make sure you've got the shelf space sorted before June.
