1970s Gene Wilder Willy Wonka set coming to our Chocolate covered faces in September

Originally a Lego Ideas submission now made real, this set has been at least 4 years in the design and development phase. Submitted by two Italian designers, Roberto Ceruti and Jody Padulano collectively known as 2PPL, the first iteration of their design with motorised choccofall (well it's not a waterfall is it) was rejected by Lego despite reaching the needed 10K supporters to be considered.

Re-submitted in 2023 with the optimistic "Here we go again" subtitle the set was finally selected for production. Working closely with Laura Perron and Crisy Dyment from the Lego poduct development team. The updated set Keeps many of it's submission elements, and now also includes a version of the boat from the movie.

Originally designed to have a motor whirring away. The idea was to keep the chocolate cascading into that glorious pit of goo. Instead, we’ve ended up with a lonely twisty knob at the back, alongside Wonka’s tiny officespace. Give it a week or two and motorised MOCs will pop up sure enough.
