LEGO Pokemon TCG Building Contest: Five Finalists Ready for Your Vote

LEGO Pokemon TCG Building Contest: Five Finalists Ready for Your Vote

The LEGO Ideas Pokemon building contest has reached its voting stage. Back in March, fans were invited to build original full-art Pokemon trading card designs from a curated list of eligible Pokemon, with the winning creation becoming an official LEGO set. Five finalists made the cut, and you've got until June 11 to vote for your favourite.

The five builds competing are Gyarados: Sunset Splash by CreativeDynamicBuilder, The Mythical Arceus by livetobuild, A Mew Soaring High by IsleOh, and two others. Each takes a different approach to translating card artwork into three-dimensional brick form. Some lean into the artistic elements of the card design, whilst others focus on capturing the Pokemon itself in a sculptural way.

This contest sits at an intriguing intersection for LEGO. Pokemon has always had a younger audience, but the trading card game appeals to adults too, and LEGO Ideas contests tend to attract builders with more sophisticated building skills. The winner will likely appeal to both groups - kids who collect Pokemon sets and adults who appreciate the design challenge of turning 2D art into buildable form.

The winning set will be announced in February 2027, which gives LEGO time to work with the designer on translating the build into a production set.

If you've got a preference among the finalists, head to the LEGO Ideas website to cast your vote. It's one of those rare opportunities where your vote genuinely shapes what ends up in shops.
