About LEGO The Evolution of STEM
A buildable base shaped like an open book showcases the history of scientific discovery through detailed mini-builds and three LEGO minifigures representing pioneering scientists. The set features Marie Curie, Sir Isaac Newton, and George Washington Carver, each positioned alongside elements representing their key contributions to science.
The display includes Newton's apple tree, Carver's plant bed, a space shuttle, and a robotic arm, creating a timeline of scientific advancement. Interactive features bring the model to life: turning a dial makes a 3D carbon atom replica float upwards while rotating a DNA strand. Hidden details include a Morse code message and a NASA Voyager Probe with the Golden Record.
Scientific Heritage Display
The open book base measures 27 cm high, 23 cm wide, and 19 cm deep when complete, making it suitable for display on a desk or shelf. The 879-piece construction provides substantial building complexity while remaining accessible to adult builders interested in science and history.
This set originated from the LEGO Ideas platform, where fan designers submit concepts for community voting. Building instructions are included in the box alongside a booklet featuring interviews with both the original fan designer and LEGO Ideas team members who developed the final product.
